Day 01: Zanzibar to Central Serengeti

Upon your arrival at Seronera Airstrip, our driver will be eagerly awaiting to kickstart your daily adventure in the renowned Serengeti National Park, also known as “The Endless Plain.” This iconic park is famed for its abundant wildlife, particularly the majestic “Big Five”: Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Rhino, and Buffalo.

As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Serengeti is home to an impressive population of around 200,000 zebras and 300,000 Thomson’s gazelles, which join the wildebeests on their annual trek for fresh grazing. Listen to the captivating symphony of over 6 million hooves pounding the open plains of Serengeti, truly immersing yourself in the essence of African wildlife.

After an exhilarating day of safari adventures, we’ll drive you to your accommodation for a leisurely evening and a peaceful overnight stay.

Day 02: Serengeti National Park full day

After a satisfying breakfast, get ready for an exciting full-day game drive in Central Serengeti. In addition to the majestic large mammals, Serengeti boasts a fascinating array of wildlife. Keep an eye out for the colorful agama lizards and the agile rock hyraxes scurrying around the park’s granite kopjes. You may also spot various species of dung beetles and marvel at the diverse birdlife, with over 500 recorded species ranging from the impressive ostrich to the elegant black eagles soaring above the Lobo Hills.

As the day unfolds, immerse yourself in the stunning landscapes and thrilling wildlife encounters that Serengeti has to offer. After an exhilarating day of exploration, we’ll drive back to the camp for an evening of relaxation and overnight stay.

Day 03: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

After a hearty breakfast, we’ll embark on a journey to the majestic Ngorongoro Crater. Descending 600 meters into this natural wonder, we’ll enjoy a full-day game drive in one of the world’s most densely populated African wildlife areas. With an estimated 30,000 animals calling it home, including Tanzania’s last remaining black rhinos, the Ngorongoro Crater promises unforgettable wildlife encounters.

Benefitting from a year-round water supply and abundant fodder, the crater supports a diverse array of animals, from herds of wildebeest, zebra, and buffalo to eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Its dense predator population, including lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the elusive leopard, adds to the allure of this picturesque national park.

Optional Maasai Boma Visit: For a cultural experience, we offer a visit to one of the famous Maasai bomas. Here, you’ll witness traditional Maasai dance, tour an authentic Maasai village, and even have the opportunity for souvenir shopping at the local market. After a day filled with adventure and cultural immersion, we’ll retire to our accommodations for a delicious dinner and a restful night’s sleep.

Day 04: Tarangire National Park to Arusha Aiport

After exploring Ngorongoro Crater, our journey continues to Tarangire National Park, renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and abundant wildlife. This park is famous for its ancient Baobab trees and boasts the largest concentration of elephants in the entire country. It offers a unique opportunity to witness the fascinating interactions within elephant families.

During our game drive through Tarangire, we’ll keep our eyes peeled for wildlife sightings, focusing on areas where predators like lions, cheetahs, and leopards are known to frequent. Additionally, we’ll have ample opportunities to spot herbivores such as giraffes, wildebeest, and zebras as we traverse through the park’s diverse terrain.

After an exhilarating day of wildlife exploration, we’ll bid farewell to Tarangire National Park and head back to Arusha Airport for our flight to Zanzibar, concluding our unforgettable safari adventure.

Day 01: Zanzibar to Central Serengeti National Park

You’ll touch down at Seronera Airstrip around 11:00 a.m., where our safari guide will greet you. They’ll have a picnic lunch ready for you, and then it’s time to start your safari adventure. Around 1:00 p.m., we’ll pause for lunch before continuing our game drive, keeping an eye out for the big cats of the Serengeti and other animals.

As the day winds down, we’ll head back to Serengeti Heritage or a similar lodge, depending on availability, for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 02: Serengeti – Ngorongoro

Get ready for an early start to catch the sunrise over the Serengeti during a thrilling game drive. It’s your best chance to witness predators in action and admire the breathtaking sunrise lighting up the savannah.

After a hearty breakfast, we’ll make our way to Ngorongoro. The journey itself is a game drive, with your driver keeping an eye out for the Big Five, wildebeest migration, and any other wildlife sightings along the way.

Optional Activity: Visit a Maasai boma to experience traditional Maasai dance, tour an authentic village, and browse local souvenirs at the market. Please note, this activity incurs an extra cost.

Day 03: Ngorongoro Crater to Zanzibar

After breakfast, we’ll set off for the Ngorongoro Crater, often dubbed the Eighth Wonder of the World. As we approach, you’ll catch your first glimpse of this vast and lush caldera from a panoramic viewpoint.

The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a haven for wildlife, boasting over 120 mammal species, including the renowned Big Five. Keep your eyes peeled for the elusive black rhinoceros grazing on the grass plains and hippopotami enjoying a refreshing dip in the water.

From the comfort of our open-top vehicle, you’ll have the perfect vantage point to observe and capture photographs of Africa’s iconic wildlife. The crater is teeming with predators like lions, leopards, cheetahs, jackals, and hyenas, alongside herds of wildebeests, zebras, antelopes, cape buffalos, and more.

3 Days Big 5 Tanzania lodge Safari

Tour Overview

Join our 3-day Tanzania Big 5 Safari, staying at a comfy lodge. You’ll be part of a small group, ensuring everyone gets a window seat and great views from the jeep’s pop-up roof.

We’ll start with the incredible Ngorongoro Crater, where you can easily spot wild animals against its stunning backdrop.

Then, it’s off to Tarangire, known for its elephants, but you’ll also see lions, leopards, and more.

Finally, we’ll explore Lake Manyara, famous for its tree-climbing lions and beautiful flamingos.

You’ll share the jeep for game drives, but your accommodation will be private, giving you the best of both worlds – adventure and comfort!

Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

“We’ll start by picking you up from your hotel and introducing you to our guide and chef. Then, we’ll embark on a 2-hour drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its stunning landscapes and the largest concentration of elephants in Tanzania.

Once inside the park, we’ll enjoy a game drive, focusing on areas where animal sightings, especially predators like lions, cheetahs, and leopards, are reported. Along the way, you’ll also spot plenty of herbivores like giraffes, wildebeest, and zebras.

For lunch, we’ll stop at the picturesque Tarangire River picnic site. While enjoying your meal, you might be entertained by small monkeys and baboons trying to sneak a bite, but there’s nothing to worry about.

After lunch, we’ll continue our game drive until around 4:30 pm when we’ll exit the park and head to our accommodation in Mto Wa Mbu at Suricata Boma Lodge.

Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater

The Ngorongoro Crater stands out as Tanzania’s premier wildlife park, thanks to its breathtaking landscape shaped like a crater, making wildlife observation a breeze.

After an early breakfast, we’ll head to the Ngorongoro viewpoint to soak in the mesmerizing scenery. Trust me, the view will leave you breathless for a moment.

Next, we’ll descend into the crater, aiming to spot the elusive black rhinos. They’re a rare sight amidst the abundance of wildlife, but the unique landscape of the crater makes spotting other animals relatively easy.

The Ngorongoro Crater is the jewel of Tanzania, boasting stunning scenery and a thriving animal population. Its self-sustaining ecosystem means animals rarely need to leave the crater.

Day 3: Lake Manyara to Arusha

During our game drive, we’ll have ample opportunities to marvel at the diverse birdlife, with a special hope of catching a glimpse of the famous tree-climbing lions. We’ll also visit the hippo pool for an up-close encounter with these fascinating creatures, and admire the hot spring, all while continuing our game drive and spotting various other animals like buffaloes, wildebeest, warthogs, vultures, eagles, and monkeys.

After the tour, we’ll return to Arusha and drop you off at your hotel.

Day 01: Arrival – Tarangire National Park

Upon your arrival in Arusha from Zanzibar, you’ll be warmly welcomed and whisked away to Tarangire National Park for an unforgettable safari adventure. As you enter the park, you’ll step into a world where majestic elephants roam freely across vast open plains, lions rule their domains, and zebras add their distinctive calls to the wild symphony.

Tarangire truly comes alive during the dry season, boasting the largest population of elephants in the world. It’s a must-visit destination on your journey, offering unparalleled opportunities to witness these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat. The park is also famous for its iconic baobab trees, towering termite mounds, and sweeping savannahs punctuated by serene swamps.

Day 02: Ngorongoro Crater

After a hearty breakfast in the early hours, embark on an extraordinary 8-hour journey to the Ngorongoro Crater, a geological wonder revered as one of the most spectacular natural phenomena worldwide. This colossal caldera, formed around three million years ago, stands as a testament to the immense power of volcanic activity.

The Ngorongoro Crater boasts an unparalleled concentration of large game animals, earning its place as one of Africa’s most exceptional wildlife sanctuaries. Home to the iconic Big Five and a diverse range of predators, it’s a haven for wildlife enthusiasts and conservationists alike. As you make your way down into the crater, you’ll be greeted by a vast expanse filled with a rich tapestry of wildlife. Towering crater walls rise from 400 to 610 meters above the crater floor, enclosing an area spanning 264 square kilometers, with a diameter of 19 kilometers. Spend the afternoon immersed in the wonders of the crater before continuing your journey towards Arusha.

At Materuni, you’ll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in its refreshing pools, allowing the cool waters to rejuvenate your senses. But the adventure doesn’t stop there.
